Volkswagen has announced the pricing and specifications of its new electric commercial van, the ID.Buzz Cargo.

Starting at £38,125, the van is offered in two variants – Commerce and Commerce Plus – both featuring a 77kWh lithium-ion battery with a fully charged range of up to 256 miles (412 km).

While both the trims offer advanced connectivity and driver assist systems, the Commerce variant comes with a heated driver’s seat, front and rear parking sensors and a 10in touchscreen infotainment system. The Commerce Plus, with prices starting from £42,375, adds cruise control, keyless entry, park assist with memory function, rearview camera, heated windscreen, Discover Pro navigation system, plus a range of driver assistance systems such as Travel Assist, Lane Assist, Side Assist and Emergency Assist.

Built using sustainable components and materials, the ID. Buzz Cargo can accommodate two Euro pallets loaded sideways, with an overall volume of up to 3.9m3. With its powerful e-drive, trailer loads of up to 1,000 kg can also be easily attached to the optional trailer hitch.

Customers can choose from a two- or three-seat configuration upfront and also opt for a fitted window between the driver's cab and the loading space if required.

Volkswagen will open bookings for ID. Buzz Cargo in August.
