GOGORO’S Eeyo 1 city e-Bike to hit UK stores in time for Christmas

Gogoro, a technology leader in urban electric mobility, has announced that its ultralight Eeyo 1 e-Bike is now available for UK customers to pre-order either in-store or direct via its website.

From next month, consumers are invited to view and test the bike at The Bike Shop by Smartech in Selfridges’ flagship London store.

Available in four colours – Arctic White, Magma Orange, Graphite Grey and Cloud Blue – the Eeyo 1 offers those pedalling through towns and cities a “smarter, cleaner, more stylish personal transportation choice for both leisure and commuting”.

The carbon frame and alloy construction, which weighs just 12.5Kg, combines with a forward-leaning sport geometry, giving riders more speed and control when whizzing through city streets.

A key aspect of the design is the Gogoro Eeyo Smartwheel that packs the motor, battery, sensors and smart connectivity into one compact, self-contained hub.

The torque sensor detects a rider’s pedal-power to instantly deliver pedal assist, providing increased control, power and speed up to 15.5mph. This function is designed to conserve the rider’s energy while also ensuring there is enough power to get you to your destination.

Smartwheel includes security features such as proximity-based auto-lock, which automatically blocks the motor when the bike has been at a standstill for a few minutes.

Connected with the Smartwheel is the Eeyo app that delivers essential ride information. Cyclists can use the app to select how much assistance they want from the Smartwheel, tailoring it to their own riding style. The Sport mode can deliver up to 30 miles of range on a single charge and the Eco mode can do up to 45 miles, as it prioritises battery life by delivering a lower level of pedal-assist.

To ensure the consumer gets the latest features, the Eeyo app can get over-the-air firmware and software updates meaning it will get better all the time. For example, updates to be rolled out in 2022 include Google Fit™ and Apple Health apps, as well as real-time range estimation so you know how much further you can travel before recharging.

Horace Luke, founder and chief executive of Gogoro Inc, said: “The Eeyo 1 ticks every box for anyone who wants the ease and performance of an electric bike with the agility and slimline style of a road bike. It’s unlike any other ebike out there and is guaranteed to turn heads.”

Priced at £3,999, the e-Bike will be distributed exclusively in the UK by Gogoro Eeyo partner Greene Wheels.
