First deliveries of the UK-manufactured new all-electric Mini Moke will start from June in the UK and France, Moke International has announced.

The first ever, genuine, full-speed Electric Moke vehicles rolled off the UK production line last week, the company said of the iconic vehicle suitable for open-air motoring pleasure in European summer.

According to the company, the fully electric powertrain offers a typical range of around 75 miles, eminently suitable for days at the beach, country picnics and other summer activities: a rapid charge time of just four hours (from a mains charger) ensures it’s always ready for the next adventure.

The Electric Moke’s colour palette includes Wave Blue, Sunlight Yellow, Sunset Orange, Scuba Blue and Granite Grey, which are offered on the standard model. Customers will also be able to personalise their car to their exact tastes and sensibilities later this year, the company said.

“We’ve taken the original Mini Moke, created by Sir Alec Issigonis and reimagined it for today’s world – and tomorrow’s – as a fully electric vehicle,” said Robin Kennedy, Commercial Director, Moke International. “In recent times, petrol-powered Mokes have been championed by everyone from Kate Moss to George Russell. Our team has been working relentlessly for three years to engineer and manufacture a worthy, sustainable successor with the latest technologies.”

The company has also done exclusive partnerships this summer to bring Moke experience at different locations.

At Beaverbrook, the quintessentially English country house estate, guests can savour the Moke on the peaceful countryside and secluded lanes of the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the south of England.

And on the Côte d’Azur, with its local partners, Moke is opening its first official experience centre, “Casa Moke” in Saint-Tropez, building towards its vision to become the world’s most loved beach lifestyle brand. International clients of luxury real-estate company Bo-House and Tardieu Immobilier will have access to an exclusive monthly subscription package. The battery has sufficient range (120km) for at least three round trips from Cap-Ferrat to Monaco, at a suitably leisurely 80km/h, according to the company.

The electric Moke costs from £29,150 and can be reserved on the Moke website.
