The London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC), famous for making the iconic black London cab, has unveiled its latest innovation, the TX Access. Designed to provide unparalleled accessibility, the TX Access harnesses the class-leading interior space of the TX model to cater to new sectors, including education and healthcare.
Setting a new standard in inclusive transportation, the TX Access offers abundant space for wheelchair users and can comfortably accommodate up to six passengers. The vehicle is fully wheelchair accessible, featuring a direct access ramp that neatly folds away into the floorspace, allowing for swift deployment and adjustability.
Pure electric range sits at just under 80 miles. The Green Alliance has reported that the average London black cab driver's daily drive is 70-80 miles, so it's possible to run the TX Access as a pure electric transport solution.
One of the standout features of the TX Access is its spacious interior, which effortlessly enables the rotation of a wheelchair into a forward-facing position. In adherence to ISO 10542 standards, the vehicle boasts a comprehensive restraint system that ensures wheelchair users remain securely seated throughout the journey. The flat floor, covered with slip-resistant material, prioritizes stability and safety.
Additionally, the TX Access incorporates an innovative swivel seat that pivots outside the vehicle, facilitating hassle-free access. The vehicle's large door aperture further enhances accessibility for wheelchair users. Optional high-visibility contrasting grab handles and seat edges provide additional support and safety. The TX Access is equipped with various communication options, such as a hearing induction loop, braille embossed controls, and a microphone system, fostering seamless contact between passengers and the driver.
Key features of the TX Access include:-
- An enhanced version of the world's most advanced electric taxi, LEVC's TX Access leads the way in accessible mobility solutions
- Enables easy wheelchair manoeuvrability with an ISO 10542 chair restraint system, high-visibility grab handles, and seat edges for enhanced entry, seat deployment, and exit
- Additional accessibility features include a swivel seat that pivots outside the vehicle, facilitating hassle-free access
