InstaVolt has launched a dedicated mobile app to help combat range anxiety among British drivers and fast track EV adoption in the UK.
InstaVolt’s app is optional for users and sits alongside the company’s popular contactless payment option that revolutionised public charging when it launched in 2017. The app offers motorists additional functionality including a live map of InstaVolt’s charging network, a loyalty scheme that allows drivers to earn credit every time they charge and the ability to track charging history.
The news follows a flurry of recent partnership announcements from InstaVolt, including the business’ recent tie up with Costa Coffee to install rapid EV chargers at up to 200 drive-thru sites across the UK, and a collaboration with car subscription service Onto to offer customers free charging across the whole of the InstaVolt public charging network.
Adrian Keen, chief executive officer of InstaVolt has explained that the new app will help ease drivers’ lives and ultimately accelerate the all-electric revolution.
“Our newly designed app – which is entirely optional – will help motorists quickly locate rapid charge points, wherever their location, and our loyalty scheme will incentivise and reward our regular customers,” he said. “The platform complements InstaVolt’s unique contactless payment experience and allows customers to keep up to date with new site launches, partnerships and InstaVolt news.”
The InstaVolt network has over 600 chargers nationwide and is capable of delivering up to 125kW charging speeds – adding hundreds of miles of range in half an hour. Also, the company owns, installs, and maintains rapid electric vehicle charging units all over the country, giving landowners the opportunity to earn a rental income by housing them, and giving EV drivers access to some of the fastest charging available.
As WhichEV reported, InstaVolt is rapidly expanding as the company has the ambitious target of delivering 5,000 chargers by 2024/25.
