Tesla's iconic Cybertruck is embarking on a continent-wide tour, dubbed the “Cyber Odyssey”, giving Europeans their first chance to witness this revolutionary electric pickup truck firsthand. We visited the launch of the Odyssey in Park Royal to take our first look.
Starting this week and lasting until July 7th, the Cybertruck will be on display in over 100 locations across 20 European countries. This extensive tour allows the public to experience the vehicle's unique design, surprising specs, and innovative engineering up close. Attendees can also book test drives with Tesla's award-winning Model Y and the recently upgraded Model 3.
The UK kicks off the European leg on May 4th, with the Cybertruck taking temporary residence at the Tesla Centre Park Royal for the entire weekend. It will then follow this itinerary across the UK:
- Tesla Centre Park Royal: May 4th-5th
- Tesla Centre Westfield Shopping: May 6th-10th
- Kings Cross: May 11th
- Tesla Centre Solihull: May 13th-17th
- Birmingham Bullring: May 18th-19th

Beyond Utility: A Cyberpunk Dream Machine
The Cybertruck's design draws inspiration from the cyberpunk aesthetic seen in films like Blade Runner and from the Lotus Esprit in The Spy Who Loved Me. Its exterior boasts an Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel shell, offering unparalleled protection against dents, dings, and long-term corrosion, although it is a bit of a fingerprint magnet.
Performance enthusiasts will be thrilled by the Cybertruck's “Cyberbeast” variant, capable of rocketing from 0 to 60 mph in a mind-blowing 2.6 seconds, all while maintaining exceptional high-speed stability. Standard Adaptive Air Suspension makes adjustments in milliseconds to optimize both ride comfort and handling. With steer-by-wire technology and rear-wheel steering, the Cyberbeast delivers sportscar-like handling and a turning circle tighter than most sedans.
The Cybertruck's functionality extends beyond its sleek exterior. The cargo bed features two 120V and one 240V power outlets, allowing you to plug in and power devices wherever you go. For the first time, Tesla's innovative Powershare technology enables bidirectional power transfer. This means you can charge any device, other electric vehicles, or even power your home via the charger port.
North American Deliveries Underway, European Timeline Unclear
While Cybertruck production is ramping up at Tesla's Giga Factory in Austin, Texas, deliveries are currently limited to North America, which remains the primary market for pickup trucks. Tesla has not yet announced a timeline for European deliveries or production, including the UK.
