Volvo opens new EV studio at Brent Cross Shopping Centre

The Swedish car manufacturer Volvo launched its new sales venue, The Studio, at Brent Cross Shopping Centre, aiming to promote all its latest electric vehicle models.

Volvo plans to have its entire passenger car portfolio turn full-electric by 2030.

Along with its dealership partner Endeavour Automotive, the company plans to operate this new Studio for 12 months in the initial stage.

The primary goal is to allow consumers to experience Volvo's first electric vehicle centre in the UK, following a successful launch of the same concept in the Netherlands.

Volvo Car UK Managing Director Kristian Elvefors said that the Studio is “a super initiative that brings the technology, style and desirability offered by our range of new electric cars to a wider audience”.

The design embraces the Scandinavian aesthetic of cleanliness and a contemporary approach. Volvo said that the style matched Volvo's.

Volvo's range of Recharge battery-electric models will take centre stage. The Studio includes the new C40 Recharge compact crossover and the fully electric XC40 Recharge.

The Studio also offers test drives and accepts customer orders for new cars, with order fulfilment and handovers managed by Volvo Cars North London, operated by Endeavour Automotive.

Endeavour Automotive Chief Executive John Caney added that: “The Studio is a perfect environment for introducing people to Volvo's exciting electrification plans and to see its latest models. Our expert team will be on hand to help people to feel confident and informed about making the right decision when it comes to choosing an electric car.”

Volvo reported a four per cent increase year-on-year in its 2021 total sales, reaching 48,260 cars in January. The company's market share rose slightly from 2.85 to 2.93 per cent.

The XC40 compact SUV was Volvo's UK best-seller for a second consecutive year with total sales of 25,242 units.
