InstaVolt set to reach 1,000 rapid charging installations this summer in UK

InstaVolt is on track to reach 1,000 rapid EV charging installations this summer, which will make it the largest owner-operated rapid charging network in the UK.

In the coming weeks, InstaVolt will install its 700th charger and already has more than 200 more chargers in construction.

New InstaVolt chargers will be popping up across the UK on its partner-landlords’ sites that include McDonalds, Costa Coffee, EH Booths and KFC.

The network will also launch its first rapid chargers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland this year too.

Besides the opening of new sites, the company is now looking to expand its current hubs.

InstaVolt’s first expansion project is taking place at the popular hub on the M40 in Banbury where eight additional chargers are being installed.

“Improving public charging infrastructure across the whole of the UK is vital for people to feel confident enough to make the switch to electric vehicles. I’m proud to be spearheading the delivery of more rapid chargers to all four corners of the UK,” said Adrian Keen, InstaVolt’s chief executive.

“The past year has seen InstaVolt grow its network by over 50%, and there is no slow down expected over the coming months and years. Each month, SMMTs figures demonstrate the rise in EVs on the road, and our announcement dispels the myth that investment in charging infrastructure is lacking behind vehicle numbers.”

The news comes as InstaVolt was named the most popular EV charging network in Zap-Maps annual public survey.
