Vauxhall Corsa-e and Mokka-e get range boost

Vauxhall has announced that it has increased the WLTP range of its Corsa-e and all-new Mokka-e by optimising their HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) and propulsion systems.

The Corsa-e’s range has increased from 209 miles to 222 miles whilst the Mokka-e’s range has gone from 201 miles to 209 miles.

Specifically, Vauxhall has made the heat pumps that warm and cools the interior more efficient. This takes less energy from the battery which increases the range.

A new transmission reducer that converts the motor revs into wheel speed has also improved the range.

Another range-extension measure has been to introduce A+ rated 16in (Corsa-e) and 17in (Mokka-e) low rolling resistance tyres for further efficiency.

Vauxhall says it will make its entire range of cars and vans fully electric by 2028 – two years ahead of the government deadline. An electrified variant across its entire model range will be available for customers by 2024.

To incentivise more people to make the switch to an EV and simplify the ownership experience, Vauxhall has introduced a Plug & Go offer.

This includes a free home charging unit worth £800, eight years roadside assistance cover and battery warranty, a free six-month subscription plan to the UK’s biggest charging network BP Pulse, and three years’ free servicing.

Currently, Vauxhall has five EVs on offer, along with two plug-in hybrid models.
