The world’s first fully rideable hybrid battery-powered motorbike by NAWA Racer is making its debut at the EICMA show in Milan from 25th-28th November.
NAWA Technologies, a world-leader in innovative energy storage and composites, developed the vehicle concept with a consortium of French companies comprised of AKKA Technologies, Pronergy, FAAR and YSY Group.
The bike’s NAWA next-gen nano-based ultracapacitors, called NAWACap, combine with conventional lithium-ion cells to create a hybrid battery system. By optimising both energy sources, this scalable system greatly improves efficiency, reduces charging times, potentially doubles the range, and extends the entire systems life. Although the technology is perfectly suited for two-wheelers, it can also be applied to any electric vehicle.
Its design was supported by expert design and engineering provider Envisage Group, which is based in Coventry. Built for urban living, the bike can reach up to 300km on a single charge.
