The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, the German automaker’s flagship electric SUV, is now available to order in the UK with prices starting from £129,170.
The luxury SUV is available in two variants, the EQS 450 4MATIC, which features 365 miles of range, and the EQS 580 4MATIC, with up to 364 miles. Both variants use a twin-motor arrangement, giving all-wheel drive, and the same 108kWh battery pack.
The interior specification of the EQS SUV differs depending on what trim line a customer picks. For AMG Line Premium Plus, the car will feature black Nappa leather and anthracite wood trim. Business Class trim uses macchiato beigne Nappa leather and ship deck wood.
The SUVs also include the latest generation MBUX infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB-C and wireless charging and a Heads-up display for the driver. For an extra £7,995, buyers can equip the EQS SUV with the Hyper Screen pack, which turns the dashboard into one giant touchscreen. The standard setup utilises a 12.8-inch central display and a separate digital instrument cluster.
In terms of performance the EQS 450 4MATIC, can sprint 0-62 mph in just 6 seconds, while the EQS 580 4MATIC is even quicker at 4.6 seconds. On road dynamics are improved with the addition of rear-wheel steering, 10 degrees as standard. Off-road, the electric SUV can increase its ground clearance using the standard AIRMATIC air suspension by 25mm.
The EQS SUV will be competing with the likes of BMW iX and Audi E-tron in the business luxury segment.
