Vauxhall’s Vivaro is the UK’s largest-selling electric van with over 3,000 units sold so far in 2022

Vauxhall’s Vivaro was the UK’s largest-selling electric Light Commercial Vehicle (e-LCV), according to the latest registration figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The Luton-based automaker sold 3,010 units of the electric van in the first nine months of the year. Its smaller sibling, the Combo Electric, was also the largest-selling e-LCV in its respective segment, the company said. The sales of these vehicles helped Vauxhall expand its market share to 11.1% of the e-LCV market in 2022.

“As more businesses and fleets look towards electric vans to reduce their overheads and environmental footprint, it’s great to see so many choose the Vauxhall e-LCV range,” said James Taylor, Acting Managing Director, Vauxhall, one of the few brands in the country offering a fully electric van across its entire LCV model line-up.

The Vivaro Electric also bagged ‘Medium Van of the Year’ at the What Van? Awards 2022 and was also voted ‘International Van of the Year 2021’, alongside multiple other top honours, the company said.

The vehicle has a WLTP range of up to 205 miles and a maximum payload of up to 1,226kg. The company plans its electric vehicle expansion with the goal of offering an electrified variant across its model line-up by 2024, and to offer only fully electric cars and vans in the UK by 2028.
