Nissan teams up with E.ON Energy to offer up to 33% discount on EV home chargers

Nissan has teamed up with the energy company E.ON to offer a discount of up to 33% on electric vehicle home chargers.

The Japanese auto giant said the special summer sale is available to past and current purchasers of new and used EVs at their local Nissan dealership or via an online registration form.

The discount can go up to 33 per cent, depending on the model customers choose.

The offer applies to any 7kW ‘Pulsar’ or ‘Pulsar Plus’ home charger from Wallbox currently available through E.ON Drive, and obtained via Nissan’s existing 7kW EV home charger and standard installation scheme, it said.

Giving an example, the company said customers can get £350 off the cost of a 7kW home charger manufactured by Wallbox, plus installation. The normal price of a Wallbox Pulsar Plus home charger and standard installation is £1,049 – but with the discount applied, that is reduced to just £699. For a Wallbox Pulsar Plus home charger with Power Boost, the price drops from £1,199 to £849, it said.

Commenting on the partnership, Frank Oldfield, Energy Services and Integration Manager at Nissan Motor (GB), said that the Wallbox Pulsar Plus home charger has a host of features that make electric motoring cost-effective and convenient.

For smart charging at home using Wallbox Pulsar Plus, users can connect their charging point to its app and monitor the state of their vehicle’s charge. They can schedule charging sessions to coincide with times when energy prices are lower; and protect their charger from unwanted use, the company said.

The premium variant offers all the above features and comes with the added Power Boost technology.

Nissan has been making EVs for over a decade now and sold more than 500,000 units of its all-electric LEAF worldwide. The UK arrival of the newly introduced crossover ARIYA is imminent, the company said.
