Maserati set to become first Italian luxury marque to launch 100% electric range

Maserati has laid out its plans to become the first Italian luxury car brand to launch a fully electric line-up dubbed the Folgore.

The GranTurismo will become the first car in Maserati history to adopt a 100% electric solution, with the full range due to be launched by 2025.

A true icon for the brand, the GranTurismo will offer cutting-edge technology solutions derived from Formula E and will debut in the market in 2023.

Next year, an electrified version of the Grecale SUV will be launched too.

Completing the Folgore electric range will be the Maserati MC20 super sportscar, the Quattroporte sport sedan and Levante SUV.

This electrification plan is part of Maserati’s “Dare Forward 2030” strategy announced on March 1. All the new models will be developed, engineered and produced in Italy.

The announcement comes as the Stellantis Group’s only luxury brand reported an increase in its global market share to 2.4% in 2021. Maserati grew at 41% year-on-year and sold 24,269 vehicles in total last year. In January, Maserati confirmed that it will be the first Italian brand to compete in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
