Polestar opens new Space in Solihull

Swedish electric vehicle company Polestar has opened a Polestar Space in Solihull.

The new Space, which opened on 4th March, features state-of-the art technology and a minimalist design. Located in Touchwood, a shopping destination in Solihull’s town centre, the Space is Polestar’s third UK opening, joining Polestar Spaces in London’s Westfield shopping centre and Manchester’s Trafford Centre.

Jonathan Goodman, Head of Polestar UK, said: “The Polestar Space in Solihull is located in a pivotal retail destination in the Midlands making it easier than ever for consumers to interact with the brand.”

The Space employs cutting-edge technology to help customers at the configuration stage. Trim models are placed on an interactive surface, which customers can inspect. Radio-frequency identification technology then enables customers to curate their own specification and see it presented on display screens. The customer can save their configuration and take it home with them by simply placing an NFC-compatible phone, tablet or laptop on the surface.

Polestar vehicles displayed in the Space are lit with specially designed lightboxes. The Space gives customers the opportunity to test drive on site, and is staffed by non-commissioned product specialists.

“Our Spaces continue to allow our customers, not us, to define and shape the experience they have with Polestar. With no sales pressure, an intimate environment and cutting-edge technology we continue to put the fun back into buying a car!” Goodman added.

The Solihull Space will also host talks and exhibitions on a range of topics, including design, architecture and technology.

The Polestar 3, a premium electric performance SUV, will launch in 2022, following the success of the Polestar 2. The company has plans to launch two more cars in the next two years.
