Lunaz has announced it is expanding its build allocation and workforce thanks to soaring global demand for its British electric classic cars.
The English automaker furthers the legacies of the most celebrated classic cars in history through restoration, re-engineering, and electrification.
From Lunaz's state-of-the-art facility in Silverstone, it will be increasing its production capacity to 110 EVs a year.
Demand from a new generation of pinnacle car buyers is so high that Lunaz has now opened its order books for 2024 delivery having sold out of its production slots for 2022 and 2023.
“Surging global demand for an electrified and remastered classic car by Lunaz is affirmation that clients are responding to a proposition that preserves the most celebrated cars in British automotive history while answering the pressing global requirement to transition to more sustainable practices,” said David Lorenz, founder and chief executive of Lunaz Group.
Since opening its order books in early 2020, Lunaz has grown its workforce by 500% and now employs more than 120 skilled engineers, designers, craftspeople, restoration specialists and technicians.
Lunaz’s range includes £290,000 electrified Range Rover classics, £350,000 Rolls-Royce Silver Clouds and a limited number of Aston Martin DB6’s starting at £950,000.
One explanation for the spike in demand cited by Lunaz is that “individuals across the world are drawn to the idea of a fully upcycled, clean-air vehicle as an alternative to buying new.”
A study by Nielson found that 73% of Millennial respondents were willing to spend more on a product if it comes from a sustainable or socially conscious brand.
