Hyundai opens its first ‘Electrified’ store in the UK

Hyundai has unveiled its first ‘Electrified’ store in Kent to inform customers on the EV ownership experience.

Located in the Bluewater shopping centre, the store features three educational walls for customers to explore – an Electrified Wall, Powertrain Wall and Connectivity Wall.

On the Electrified Wall lies a fully functioning home charger unit along with a touchscreen that provides easy-to-access content on each of Hyundai’s EVs.

The Powertrain Wall gives shoppers the chance to understand which electric powertrain might fit their lifestyle – fully electric, plug-in hybrid, hybrid or hydrogen fuel cell.

For a look at Hyundai’s infotainment technology, customers can head over to the Connectivity Wall, which gives information on the Bluelink app, allowing drivers to monitor their charge, plan routes and discover last mile navigation from their mobile phone.

“Transforming the way people interact with our cars has always been just as important to us as transforming the cars themselves,” said Ashley Andrew, managing director of Hyundai Motor UK.

“Now, as we continue to accelerate our launch of market-leading electrified vehicles, it’s important that we have the right environment for people that might be unfamiliar with electric cars, to discover the benefits in a friendly and informative way.”

If a customer wants to book one of Hyundai’s EVs for a test drive, the entire range can be found at the Experience Centre in the Bluewater Car Park.

Soon Hyundai will be installing a new line-up of charging points to ensure cars are always fully charged and ready to be driven.

Hyundai’s electric range consists of the IONIQ Electric, KONA Electric and the new IONIQ 5.
