Commercial Citroën ë-Berlingo Van Electric launches in UK

Citroën officially launched the commercial version of its Citroën ë-Berlingo Van Electric in the UK today, a vehicle set to shake up the compact electric van segment.

It houses a 50kWh battery connected to a 100kW (136hp) electric motor and can run for 171 miles on a single charge.

Suitable for fleet owners and business users, the van supports up to 100kW rapid charging, taking 30 minutes to charge from 0-80%.

Customers can choose from either a Panel Van, which comes in M or XL body lengths, or a Crew Van.

The Panel Van Medium model is 4.4m long and the XL variant measures 4.75m long. Load volumes in Panel Van M versions range from 3.3m3 to 3.9m3 while XL versions have a load volume of 3.8m3 to 4.4m3.

M versions can carry loads of up to 3.09m in length with a maximum payload of 803kg while XL variants have a 3.44m maximum load length and maximum payload of 751kg.

The Crew Van can transport cargo and up to five people when needed.

All versions are 1.90m high and have a tight turning circle of 10.8m thanks to a specially adapted power steering system (with the exception of the XL Crew Van which has an 11.4m turning circle).

A ‘Mode 3’ charging cable and ‘Type 2’ connectors for accelerated charging from wallboxes and public charging points, and a 7.4kW single-phase on-board charger, come as standard with all models.

The ë-Berlingo is available in two trims – Enterprise Pro and Driver Pro.

Customers can opt for the Enterprise Pro trim on both Panel Van versions (M or XL) and on the Crew Van variant. Driver Pro trim is only available on the ‘M’ Panel Van model.

The Enterprise Pro trim features electric folding door mirrors, rear parking sensors and automatic headlights on the outside. Inside, it comes with Citroën’s EXTENSO® modular folding passenger bench seat, which can increase load space and comes with a pivoting writing table. Safety wise, Enterprise Pro features cruise control with a programmable speed limiter.

Panel Van and Crew Van models both come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen with DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB sockets.

The more expensive Driver Pro trim has 16-inch ‘Starlit’ black alloy wheels, a body-coloured rear bumper, side rubbing strips and exterior door handles. Its interior includes a three-year subscription to live traffic alerts and the Citroen Connect Box Emergency & Assistance system gives the driver access to a trained advisor if they need help.

Prices start at £25,980 after the plug-in grant has been applied.

The commercial van arrives after MPV version of the e-Berlingo was launched in November 2021.
