Vauxhall has reduced the total cost of its fully electric Combo-e Life and Vivaro-e Life models by up to £3,000 in light of the recent changes to the UK government’s plug-in grant.
An entry-level five-seater Combo-e Life has gone from £33,110 to £30,610, giving it a new price of £29,610 once the grant has been applied. A Vivaro-e Life can now be bought for £30,295 with the grant.
Vauxhall’s Combo Life and Vivaro Life ranges have also gone exclusively electric as part of the company’s mission to be fully electric by 2028.
Paul Willcox, managing director at Vauxhall, said: “Vauxhall has set out a clear ambition to go electric only by 2028 and this is another step on that journey. We are focused on ensuring that the benefits of going electric are available, and affordable, to as many British motorists as possible.”
The announcement follows the price reductions across all Corsa-e and Mokka-e models made last month.
Available in five-seat or seven-seat configurations, the Combo-e Life is a spacious and practical family lifestyle vehicle. It has a 50kWh battery that runs up to 174 miles between charges.
The Vivaro-e Life has a 143-mile WLTP range and can seat up to nine passengers. This makes it suitable for large families or it can be used as a people carrier, work transportation vehicle or taxi.
Any existing customer orders for either model will be honoured, and Vauxhall says that a limited number of specialist conversions, such as Combo Life wheelchair accessible vehicles will continue.
