Onto EV subscription service adds Hyundai cars to fleet

Hyundai Motor UK has signed an agreement to supply its electric cars to the subscription service Onto for 2021.

The fleet of the electric vehicle subscription platform will receive the new Hyundai KONA Electric Premium SE and the Hyundai IONIQ Electric Premium, which will add a total of 275 new cars to its total by March. With this expansion, Hyundai helps Onto to further solidify its position as the UK’s largest all-EV fleet.

A total of 150 Hyundai KONAs has been added and will be available from mid-January for £559 per month. With a liquid-cooled 64kWh battery, it gives drivers an impressive 300 miles WLTP range and can be charged to 80% battery in 75 minutes on a 50kW charger.

A further 125 Hyundai IONIQs have been added to the fleet and will be available from mid-January for £449 per month. Each will be capable of 193 miles WLTP range.

Rob Jolly, CEO at Onto, is happy that the company can add new EV models to its growing fleet.

“The addition of the KONA Electric and the Hyundai IONIQ models is exciting news for our customers, offering greater choice than ever before with our fully-flexible monthly subscription,” he said.

We recently reported that also the PSA Groupe’s DS Automobiles and Peugeot will supply 300 all-electric DS 3 Crossback E-Tense cars and 300 e-208 GT.

Since 2018, Onto has expanded rapidly and now accounts for close to 5% of all new UK electric vehicle registrations monthly. The subscription has also reached an agreement with Renault for the all-electric Zoe.

For any of these options, no deposit is required and in return for a monthly payment, customers will enjoy everything they need for a hassle-free EV experience: the car, insurance, breakdown cover, maintenance and even the electricity to charge it via the Polar network.
