Tesla Model S 2021 infotainment has enough power to play Cyberpunk 2077

The new and updated 2021 Tesla Model S will be equipped with the most powerful infotainment system the company has ever built.

As we reported last month, Tesla has announced a complete refresh of its line-up and the new Plaid Plus which will have a range of 520 miles and 1100 horsepower.

Now new details have emerged on the updated Model S. The EV will have a brand-new infotainment system with 10 TFLOPs of horsepower, the same level as Sony's PS5, and will be reportedly powered by AMD's RDNA 2-based Navi 23 GPU.

The new system, according to the company, will be based on the Tesla Gaming Arcade platform. It will come with a main 17in Cinematic Display that features a resolution of 2,200 x 1,300 pixels and a secondary screen for the second-row passengers.

Also, the infotainment system will have wireless controller compatibility which will allow passengers to game from any seat.

According to reports, the new Tesla Model S is expected to be using the Navi 23 GPU which is a derivative of the Navi 2 SKUs. Meanwhile, the Navi 21 GPU is featured on the high-end and flagship designs while the Navi 22 GPU will be focusing on the mainstream segment. The Navi 23 GPU will be aimed at the entry-level segment, but it will work for existing consoles.

To underline the power of the new infotainment system, Elon Musk has tweeted that it can play Cyberpunk 2077, which means that the Tesla will have enough power to run all the latest games released to date.

The Model S will be available in three different specs. The £83,980 Long Range has a range of 412 miles. The £110,980 Plaid will have 1,020 horsepower and boast a 200-mph top speed and a 390-mile range. Lastly, the Plaid Plus will have a starting price of £130,980.

Certainly the hope for the company is that the new infotainment system will not encounter as many issues as it did on previous versions of the Model S, which we have reported has forced Tesla to recall over 158,000 vehicles.
