Peugeot has just unveiled the all-new e-208 in a GT Premium version with exclusive styling cues and latest-generation driver assistance equipment.

The new 208 is equipped with a full electric 100kw (136hp) motor and technology that places it not only at the top of the 208 range, but also at the top of the compact city car segment.

The all-new e-208 GT Premium’s array of standard equipment includes distinctive full LED headlamps with three-claw light signature, gloss black wheel arch extensions, 17in diamond-cut alloy wheels and a premium Alcantara interior trim.

This trim level also offers latest-generation technologies, such as the Peugeot 3D i-Cockpit, TomTom Traffic connected 3D navigation with 10in HD touch screen and a plethora of driving aids that pave the way for semi-autonomous driving. The Peugeot e-208 GT Premium is expected to cost £30,975 including the government plug-in grant.

This is just the latest move by the PSA group towards an all-electric future as we reported this week how the French conglomerate produces the least CO2 emissions in Europe.

The Groupe has also announced a new dedicated eVMP platform that will offer 60 to 100 kWh of embedded energy and an optimised architecture that exploits the entire sub-floor for the battery. Also, it will be expected to have an all-electric range from 250 miles (400 km) to 400 miles (650 km) using the WLTP system.

PSA has now announced all-electric variants of all its compact vans. We reported that they will be powered by a powertrain composed of a water-cooled 50kWh electric battery, that allows power outputs of up to 100kW, and a 100kW/136hp electric motor.
