Milan-based Aehra is aiming to establish itself as a global brand when it comes to stylish, high-performance electric vehicles. That dream centres on Filippo Perini – the man behind the Murciélago, Aventador and Huracan. Today, Aehra hopes to push back the boundaries with its latest electric vehicles with what it describes as an ultra-premium EV saloon. Can this relatively small Italian maker, set new standards for the industry with the Aehra Sedan?

The sedan, revealed to international media at the prestigious Milano Monza Motor Show, shares the same ultra-advanced EV platform as its SUV sibling – looking to showcase Aehra's commitment to ‘uncompromising excellence'. However, the sedan boasts a distinct character with unique graphic signatures at the front and rear, setting it apart from its predecessor. Will it share the Aehra SUV's internal cinema set up?

With Perini onboard, this Aehra draws inspiration from centuries of Italian design, emphasising purity of expression while looking to capture the essence of art and architecture. The sedan exemplifies the brand's soft, simple, and uncomplicated design language, featuring a fluid line that runs uninterrupted along the vehicle's side. Rather than relying on complex body edges, Aehra's design team masterfully plays with light and shadow, creating a harmonious interplay that elevates the sedan's allure.

The front of the vehicle presents a fusion of technical elements, such as active aerodynamics and cooling systems, seamlessly integrated into the lower section. Collaborating with Miba Battery Systems, Aehra has also developed a bespoke battery solution, ensuring optimum efficiency and an impressive 500 mile (800km) driving range for both the sedan and SUV. On that basis, the underlying 120kWh battery pack is likely to be similar – and they are both likely to weigh less than 2,000kg. If they share the same 800 bhp motor as well, then the top speed is also likely to hit close to 160mph – although a figure for acceleration seems notably absent from Aehra's web site.

In contrast to the technical lower section, the top portion of the sedan embodies clean, flowing lines reminiscent of the aeronautic sector. This aerodynamic shape not only enhances the vehicle's efficiency but also conveys a sense of effortless motion even when stationary.

Filippo Perini, Aehra's Chief Design Officer and an icon in the Italian automotive design sector, is enthusiastic about his creation, “With the Aehra Sedan, we had the boldness to go even further and fully exploit the exceptional design freedom born out of our founder Hazim Nada's philosophy and vision.”

Reflecting on the influence of Italian art and architecture, Perini continued, “For centuries, Italian architects, artists, and designers have been inspired by the pursuit of the perfection of proportion. That passion and discipline are evident in every line and detail of the Aehra Sedan.”

Aehra's commitment to balance and proportion extends beyond aesthetics. The sedan embodies power, dynamism, and energy, with its muscular front and rear fenders exuding strength and showcasing the brand's dedication to delivering a superior driving experience.

Continuing its revolutionary approach, Aehra employs advanced, sustainable composite materials, including forged carbon fiber, typically reserved for supercars and hypercars. These cutting-edge materials enable the brand to push the boundaries of technical design, resulting in ground-breaking features like the double-falcon doors found on both the sedan and SUV, combining striking visuals with effortless practicality.

Hazim Nada, Aehra's Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO, expressed his excitement about the brand's future: “The debut of the Aehra Sedan, just eight months after we revealed our first SUV model and the recent announcement of our partnership with Miba Battery Systems, confirms that Aehra remains firmly on track in its strategic mission to deliver a step-change in the design, customer, and ownership experience of ultra-premium electric vehicles.”

Customer deliveries of the Aehra Sedan and SUV are expected to commence by 2026, with Aehra's global rollout planned for key markets, including North America, Europe, China, and the Gulf States.

Aehra is looking to re-shape the future of ultra-premium electric mobility, delivering a harmonious fusion of design, performance, and sustainability to discerning customers worldwide. It's up against some serious competitors with Tesla's technologies on one side and BMW's ultra-luxurious interiors on the other.

Ahead of a full review, in order to understand the true potential of the brand, we would need a lot more technical detail about the car itself – as well as how Ahera expects to sell, service and support its SUV and Saloon models in the field.
