Nissan adds eight new central European destinations to its e-travel guide

Nissan has added eight new central European destinations to the upcoming editions of its electric travel guide that embark on cross-country adventure, featuring pit stops in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia.

The idea is to provide a visitor’s guide specifically for EV drivers that shows attractions, restaurants, hotels, and other points of interest with charging points.

Designed to help global travellers enjoy more climate-conscious holidays, the guide curates a novel mix of culture, cuisine, and nature, while connecting must-see spots along picturesque routes.

These destinations include Devin (Bratislava) where motorists can head to the banks of the Danube to explore one of the oldest castles in Slovakia and enjoy breath-taking views – even seeing as far as Vienna and the snowy tops of the Austrian Alps.

At Zochova Chata (Bratislava), travellers can relax in an oasis of wellness set against a backdrop of lush forests at the Hotel Zochova Chata – all while enjoying great food and local wines.

Another one is Budapest City Park, a 200-year-old haven from the bustling city that also happens to have its own castle, multiple museums, beautiful lakes and even a selection of restaurants.

At Pannonhalma Archabbey, also in Budapest, travellers can discover one of Hungary’s oldest historical monuments, take in the views from the tower, and explore the vast library at this UNESCO Heritage Site.

In Prague, they can visit Kasárny Karlín, also known as the Karlin Barracks. This volunteer-led cultural meeting spot (featuring a coffee shop, cinema, gallery, bar and more) is a lively place to visit for anyone looking for a truly local experience.

Another pit stop is Kutná Hora, a medieval town not far from Prague, featuring some decidedly unique places – from the ‘Bone Church’ to the UNESCO-listed Old Town.

At Palmenhaus in Vienna, they can experience a wide variety of enticing dishes in the most opulent surroundings at this café, bar and lounge set in a former greenhouse built for Austria’s emperors.

While in Vienna, they can take a tour of Donau-Auen National Park and explore this stunning 9,600-hectare national park set on the banks of the river Danube, home to many endangered plants and animals.

“The Nissan Electric Travel Guide bridges the gap between electric vehicles and the lifestyle considerations that are key to achieving sustainability,” said Friederike Kienitz, Senior Vice President, Sustainability, Corporate Affairs and Governance, Nissan AMIEO.

Nissan tested the itinerary across the four countries with the Nissan Ariya that gave a range of up to 533 km. The guide’s first edition was launched in Stockholm earlier this year. EV drivers can also choose to discover each individual city and plan their own road trips.

Travellers can also plan a trip to Stockholm, the first city covered by Nissan’s ongoing digital content series, with new locations to be added in the future, the company said.
