Allstar becomes UK’s largest combined fuel and EV network, targets 10,000 chargers by year end

Allstar Business Solutions is targeting 10,000 charging points across the UK by the end of 2022, the company has announced at a dinner celebrating the postponed World EV Day + 20.

The company has more than 8,600 chargepoints at 3,100-plus locations for fleets recharging on the road, as well as access to over 90% of the UK's fuel sites, making it the largest combined fuel and EV network in the country.

The company revealed its network expansion plans during a dinner for industry partners and customers at The Shard in London where World EV Day founder Ade Thomas gave the keynote address.

Allstar’s EV network recently welcomed GRIDSERVE, MFG, Connected Kerb, Charge My Street, Allego, PlugNGo, and Mer to its roster, joining the likes of Source London, Geniepoint, ESB Energy, Osprey, Alfa Power and LiFe, the company said.

The fuel and EV solutions company said it has invested in Mina and launched Allstar Homecharge. The solution helps simplify payments for EV fleets charging at home, all managed through one supplier with complete visibility of charging and payments.

The company launched the One Electric fuel card in 2019, eliminating the need to subscribe to multiple EV charging networks by aggregating merchants and locations. This resulted in lower costs and added convenience, it said. It also partnered with EV search and mapping app Zap-Map, enabling customers to search, plan and pay for EV charging on the road.

Allstar’s parent company Fleetocor recently invested in the former as part of its Series A fundraising, as well as acquiring Plugsurfing, a leading European EV software and network provider to vehicle OEMs and charge point operators (CPO).

The company also invested in its human resource, with Tom Rowlands moving to Managing Director, Global EV Solutions after serving at Fleetcor for four years. Tom brings with him a wealth of experience from his time at Deloitte and having served at KPMG and MasterCard, it said.

“We look forward to enhancing our offering to fleets long into the future,” said Rowlands.

Speaking on the occasion, Allstar’s VP of EV Sales and Partnerships Laura Lancaster said: “It is crucial that we support businesses as they plan and execute their transition, as it is not something that can happen overnight. That’s why we’ve put many steps in place to create a wide-reaching network that is easily accessible, convenient, rich in insights and covers all bases.”
