Hyundai reveals IONIQ 6 with digital world premiere film

Hyundai has announced the launch of its much-anticipated IONIQ 6 Electrified Streamliner with a digital world premiere film.

The all-electric streamliner is claimed to deliver a range of 610 km (381 miles) along with 400-V/800-V ultra-fast, multi-charging capabilities. The 77.4-kW battery is mounted in an aerodynamically sculpted silhouette and consumes less than 14 kWh/100 km, the company said.

“IONIQ 6 is the next ambitious step forward in Hyundai Motor’s strategy to accelerate its transition to electrification and into a position as a global leader in EVs,” said Jaehoon Chang, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company.

The IONIQ 6 comes with a range of advanced technologies and personalized features including Speed Sync Lighting, EV Performance Tune-up and Electric Active Sound Design. Along with dual color ambient lighting comprising of 64 colors and themes, the SUV features a 12-inch full-touch infotainment display, a 12-inch digital cluster, premium Bose sound system’s eight speakers and Relaxation Comfort Seats in the first row.

“The innovative interior is meticulously thought out as a cocoon-like personal space, enhanced with the latest technologies to create a safe, fun, and stress-free driving experience,” said Thomas Schemera, Hyundai’s executive vice president and global chief marketing officer.

Equipped with Hyundai SmartSense and advanced driver assistance systems, the IONIQ 6 is also said to have Hyundai’s most aerodynamic styling to date.

“IONIQ 6 connects an emotional convergence of functionality with aesthetics,” said SangYup Lee, executive vice president and head of Hyundai Design Center. “The distinctive streamlined design is the result of close cooperation between engineers and designers, with obsessive attention to detail and customer-centric values at the core.

The electric SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.
