Volvo EV test drive hub opens at the Eden Project

Volvo Cars has launched its first-ever pure electric test drive hub at the iconic Eden Project.

Visitors have the choice of taking either Volvo’s XC40 Recharge or C40 Recharge for a joyride around Cornwall’s picturesque country lanes.

Volvo and the Eden Project’s long-term partnership aims to inspire and educate people about our relationship with the environment.

The Eden Project therefore presented the perfect location to launch the test drive hub, helping to tackle some of the concerns customers may have around driving an EV – especially in remote areas.

“We’re delighted to be partnered with a company that really walks the talk,” said Sir Tim Smit, cofounder of the Eden Project.

“There is a quiet revolution going on and we want to be part of this transformation.”

Customers wishing to take one of Volvo’s EVs for a spin can pre-book a test drive or just turn up as there are a number of walk-in slots available.

Kristian Elvefors, managing director of Volvo Car UK, said: “We are really excited to launch the new Volvo pure electric test drive hub at the Eden Project.

“At Volvo, we recognise we have been part of the problem and are working extremely hard to ensure that our next generation of cars leave as little impact as possible. Our latest model, the C40 Recharge pure electric, demonstrates this commitment, right down to how it is manufactured, and the amount of recycled material used within the car.”

The hub reaffirms Volvo’s commitment to becoming electric-only by 2030.

The exact location of the test drive hub is in the coach car park.
