Diode’s EV procurement software is now live

London tech start-up Diode has launched its Charge Platform for Business, an EV suitability and charge point procurement software.

Its platform is designed to help businesses of any size make a faster and easier switch to EVs.

The company helps accelerate EV adoption by using data science to educate drivers, assesses EV readiness, make workplace and home charging recommendations and simplify the charge point procurement process.

Employees can complete a short questionnaire so that Diode can understand where that person lives, what vehicle they drive, and also a selection of journeys they make, which Diode’s algorithms analyse to build a personalised EV Readiness Report. This report has information about access to charging, cost-savings associated with EVs and how different EVs would fit into a person’s lifestyle based on driving habits.

The EV readiness data is aggregated with workplace site information to give each business a 5-year charging rollout recommendation to support their EV transition. This also includes the number and type of charge points needed for each workplace site and employees’ home. Each business can then start its procurement process confident that it is installing the right infrastructure at the right time.

Jon Horsfield, founder and chief executive at Diode, said: “Our initial focus will be able to help businesses make the switch, because this is where we can most effectively kick-start the electrification needed to meet climate targets set at COP26. More than half of all new cars in the UK are bought by businesses, and widespread workplace charging can help car owners without access to home charging have an electric vehicle.”
