Vauxhall offering 30,000 free electric miles with Corsa-e deal

Vauxhall is offering, in partnership with British Gas, a free home charging unit and 30,000 miles of free electricity to the buyers of the new Corsa-e.

The offer gives access to an exclusive British Gas Dual Fuel Tariff, with Vauxhall crediting each customer’s account to cover the cost of charging for the equivalent of 30,000 miles over a three-year period.

It is a limited time offer that is available until January 11. As part of the offer, Corsa-e customers also receive a free six-month subscription to the Polar public charging network, the UK’s largest public charging network, with more than 7,000 charging points nationwide.

The Corsa-e starts from £26,640 and features a 50kWh battery and 100kW (136PS) electric motor, capable of up to 209 miles from a single charge. The car will be able to support up to 100kW rapid charging, so an 80% charge can be achieved in just 30 minutes.

The Corsa-e is an interesting hot-hatch to drive. However, it still lacks that range and quality around the control system and instrumentation to be as competitive as some other EVs in the same segment.

The new Corsa-e also comes with an eight-year warranty on the 50kWh battery as well as eight years’ roadside assistance, giving owners peace of mind wherever they drive.

Vauxhall has been making multiple steps towards an all-electric future as we reported that the company has also unveiled the all-electric Mokka. The SUV features a 50kWh lithium-ion battery and a 100kW (136hp) electric motor with 260Nm of torque as standard. It also comes with an 11kW on-board AC charger across all models. Under preliminary WLTP tests, the range is up to 201 miles from a single charge.
