Vauxhall Corsa-e gets new pricing and trim levels

Vauxhall has revealed new prices and specifications for the all-electric 2021 version of the Corsa-e.

The Corsa-e now starts from £26,640, around a grand cheaper, but will still feature a 50kWh battery and 100kW (136PS) electric motor, capable of up to 209 miles from a single charge, as with the previous version. The car will be able to support up to 100kW rapid charging, so an 80% charge can be achieved in just 30 minutes.

All Corsa-e trim levels have also been renamed for 2021 so now the all-electric Vauxhall is available in SE Nav Premium, SRi Nav Premium and Elite Nav Premium, with 7kW and 11kW AC charging variants of each, and a £850 premium for the latter.

The sportier SRi Nav Premium trim will add 17-inch alloy wheels, sports seats, specific SRi interior with red accents, dark-tinted rear windows and sports pedals.

The electric version of the Corsa will be about £10,000 more than the internal combustion engines options, making it a quite pricy, however the engine is more powerful than the fossil fuel options.

WhichEV has reviewed the 2020 version of the Corsa and it was  not entirely impressed by the older model as there are EVs such as the Renault Zoe and Nissan Leaf on the market that boast a much higher range for a similar price.

Although the 2020 version had the potential to be a fun ride there were certain concerns towards its design and tech, especially with the “erratic” range indicator. Therefore, it will be interesting to see if the new version has fixed these issues and improved the overall quality of the product.
