Mercedes-Benz has had a flurry of new all-electric vehicles announced at the end of 2019, with the EQC headlining the company's push for electrification after the German automaker partnered up with the artist, The Weeknd, on its latest commercial. While less snazzy, but equally important, the company's light commercial vehicles (LCVs) have also received a refresh – the highly-anticipated Mercedes-Benz eVito has finally had its price and specifications revealed.
The eVito will house a singular motor which will deliver 85 kW (116 hp) of power and 300 Nm of instant torque upon acceleration. The vehicle's 41 kWh battery pack will provide a 92-mile WLTP driving range and will take around six hours to charge till full using a 7.2 kW charger.
The front-wheel-drive (FWD) eVito has been aligned with the current Vito range and offers the following as standard: height and rake adjustable steering wheel; Hill Start Assist; electrically adjustable heated exterior mirrors; sliding doors on both sides; wood flooring; adaptive brake lights; Mercedes Pro connect; heated drivers’ seat; Tempatic air conditioning; a four-metre charging cable; and a CanTrack vehicle tracker.

Note: Mercedes Pro connect will be free for the first three years. The option, which comes as standard, includes a few neat additions: Remote Access, Digital Drivers’ Log, Drive Style monitoring, real-time variable servicing monitoring, parking time monitor and geo-fence options.
The eVito is available in two lengths, and priced from £39,895 (ex VAT) for the Pure L2 model, and £40,415 (ex VAT) for the Pure L3. Both are eligible for the Office For Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) Grant. This means you can benefit from a 20% reduction on the vehicle's purchase price, up to a maximum of £8,000.
The L2 model offers 6.0 m3 cargo volume, 2,277 kg kerb weight, 3,200 kg GVW, and a payload of 923 kg. The L3 offers 6.6 m3 cargo volume, 2,302 kg kerb weight, 3,200 kg GVW, and a payload of 898 kg.

Additionally, another trim, coined as ‘Progressive', will be available with the following additions: colour-coded bumpers, full wheel covers (over the 17″ steel wheels), front fog lights, Headlight Assist, 75mph speed limiter, lumbar support and electrically foldable mirrors. The L2 and L3 variations will be available from £41,600 ex VAT and £42,120 ex VAT, respectively.
It's great to see Mercedes-Benz expanding its vehicles and offering Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) alongside conventional fuel type models; we're looking forward to seeing what Mercedes-Benz has in store for the eSprinter panel van, which is due in late 2020.
