European testing organisation Euro NCAP has rated the Volkswagen ID. Buzz as ‘Very good’ in its latest vehicle safety test results.
The new ID. Buzz earned the top ranking, receiving 5 Stars for vehicle safety from Euro NCAP.
This equates to an outstanding overall score both for collision and occupant protection. It is a mark of good vehicle features incorporating both extensive and practical accident avoidance technology.
The ID. Buzz is equipped as standard with driver, front-seat passenger, centre, and side airbags in the cockpit, plus curtain airbags. Scoring 92% of the maximum possible ratings points for occupant protection, the electric MPV from Hannover achieved an excellent result thanks to the combination of the airbags with the appropriately laid-out vehicle body structure, the company said.
Euro NCAP also gave the vehicle a top score for accident avoidance. At the driver’s disposal in the ID. Buzz are numerous standard-specification and/or optional assistance and emergency braking systems, which likewise impressed the testers, the company said. In the ‘Safety Assist’ category these helped ID. Buzz to achieve 90% of the possible ranking points.
The ID. Buzz Pro delivers an electric power consumption (combined) of 21.7 – 20.6 kWh/100 km. As this is an all-electric vehicle, the CO2 emissions (combined) in g/km is zero. The only consumption and emission figures available for the vehicle are now based on the WLTP, not NEDC, the company said.
