Volkswagen adds two new Style trims to ID.5 range

Volkswagen has introduced two new entry level Style trims – ID.5 Style and GTX Style – which will serve as the base variants for ID.5 and ID.5 GTX families.

Expanding the model’s trim line-up to five, the models will now be accessible to a new segment of customers. The all-electric SUV-coupé will have a driving range of up to 316 miles with a starting on-road price of £49,735.

While the ID.5 range offers a compelling equipment package, the Style trims have a list of optional equipment that includes the energy efficient heat pump (£1,050); 3-pin mains charging cable (£190) and the Infotainment Package Plus (£1,350), which adds a head-up display, as well as a Dynaudio digital sound package and subwoofer. The models are available in a standard Moonstone Grey paint with 19-inch ‘Hamar’ wheels, although several alternative alloy wheel designs and a range of paint colours can be specified optionally.

The Style trims come with Volkswagen’s largest battery pack from the line-up – a 77 kWh (net) unit, with a charge time of 29 minutes to 80% at a rapid charger, or at a rate of six minutes to recharge 62 miles. The new model is available with three power options – 174 PS Pro, 204 PS Pro Performance, and 299 PS GTX.

Beyond the equipment list and the battery, the German automaker has worked with its manufacturers and suppliers to ensure that the ID.5 E SUV-coupé is delivered to customers as a net carbon-neutral product. The entire supply chain, manufacturing process and logistics are examined by an independent auditing body, TÜV NORD, the company said.

Built on the MEB electric vehicle platform, the ID.5 range also has the capability to receive software updates and latest improvements on the Volkswagen network.
