Wallbox, a leading EV charging and energy management solutions company, launched its latest smart home charger Pulsar Max in the UK.

The product will be available to UK customers at wallbox.com and other leading retailers for £589 (recommended retail price).

The Pulsar Max retains the advanced performance of the Pulsar Plus model and provides up to 22kW of power, adjustable from 6A to 32A. Designed to deliver fast home charging, the product comes with new tech features and sleek design. It weighs 1.3kg (without cable) and is available in six matte-finish colours: black, white, grey, green, blue and yellow.

Other features include: WiFi and Bluetooth, Halo Light Standby option, and integrated PEN fault protection. It is compatible with all EVs and all Wallbox Energy Management Solutions and comes with 5m Type 1 or Type 2 cable (7m optional) and IP54/IK10 for indoor and outdoor installation.

The Pulsar Max is compatible with Eco-Smart technology, which allows users to charge their EV with solar energy. By using Eco-Smart, users can choose to charge their electric cars entirely through solar from their home solar installation, or a mix of solar and grid to maximise cost and energy savings, the company said.

By charging during off-peak hours in terms of energy costs users can save up to £180 a year (subject to the customer’s tariff), Wallbox said. When activated, the charger’s status light (also known as a halo light) will switch off eight seconds after an interaction, offering a more discrete option for home installations, it added.

“This powerful and compact charger is designed to deliver top charging speeds, allows users to minimise and control their energy usage from their phones,” said Alan McCleave, director of UK and Ireland at Wallbox.

Pulsar Max is also compliant with new Smart Charge Point regulations in the UK that will go into effect 30th June 2022, the company said.
