CUPRA unveils new Born e-boost models and pricing

CUPRA UK has bolstered its first all-electric hatchback – the Born – with the addition of new e-boost derivatives for added power.

There are now three different combinations of power outputs and battery capacity to give customers flexibility to choose between the different powertrain options.

First up is the 58kWh battery version, which has a range of between 223 and 264 miles per charge. With 201bhp, it can accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds.

To charge the battery from 0-100% takes 6 hours and 15 minutes using an 11kW AC wall charger, or there is an option to recharge it from 5-80% in 35 minutes with a 120kW RC rapid charger. Prices for this model start at £34,715.

Next is a Born variant starting at £37,445. This has an e-Boost taking the power up to 227bhp. The added power brings the 0-62mph sprint down to 6.6 seconds. Range wise, the model can cover between 224 and 261 miles. Charging times are the same as the entry-level counterpart.

At the top of the range is the 77kWh battery model, which starts at £40,215. This can do considerably more miles at 305 to 340 miles on a single charge. It is linked to a 227bhp electric motor giving it a 0-62mph sprint of 7 seconds.

Its additional battery capacity does however mean that it takes 7 hours and 30 minutes to charge from 0-100% with a 11kW wall charger, or 35 minutes to get from 5-80% using a 135kW DC alternative.

Cupra has also announced that there are several finance options available through a Solutions Personal Contract Plan (PCP) offered in conjunction with Volkswagen Financial Services.

In a 48-month period, buyers will pay as little as £399 per month until the end of their agreement.
