CUPRA UK has published the pricing details and trims of its first pure electric hatchback – the CUPRA Born.
Available in four battery outputs, CUPRA’s first model to hit the UK market towards the end of Q1 next year will be its 58kWh battery 204PS powertrain, with prices starting at £33,735 OTR.
This has an estimated 263-mile WLTP range and an acceleration of 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds.
The battery can be charged using an 11kW AC wall charger from 0-100% in 6 hours and 15 minutes. There is also an option to use a 120kW DC rapid charger that replenishes the battery from 5-80% in 35 minutes.
Pricing for the remaining three battery options – 45kWh, 58kWh e-Boost and 77kWh e-Boost are yet to be announced but will be available to order later on in 2022.
Customers can choose from three highly specified trim levels when ordering the 58kWh model: V1, V2 and V3. The 45kWh battery however will only be available in the V1 trim.
The CUPRA Born V1 trim, which is the manufacturer’s standard specification, includes 18in ‘Cyclone’ alloy wheels, Keyless-Go central locking, an acoustic windshield and full LED headlights and taillights with adverse weather functions. A 12-inch floating infotainment system takes centre stage inside, with a 5.3-inch fully customisable digital cockpit display offering a focused look at the essential information the driver needs.
Safety features include adaptive cruise control, front light assist, a rear view camera, dynamic road sign display, lane assist and a tiredness recognition system.
The V2 trim level for £34,190 has 19in ‘Typhoon’ alloy wheels, dark tinted rear windows, heated washer nozzles and heated front seats as added features.
In trims V2 and V3, for the first time in a CUPRA model, there is an augmented reality head-up display. This projects key information onto the windscreen, appearing as if layered onto the external environment, and presents data such as vehicle speed and navigation commands so that the driver does not have to take their eyes off the road.
Topping the trim levels is the £37,375 V3 Born, featuring 20in ‘Hurricane’ alloy wheels, plus Granite Grey Dinamica® bucket seats with 12-way electrically adjustable front seats that are heated and include a massage function.
The CUPRA Born is available in six paint colours: non-metallic vapor grey, metallic glacial white, geyser silver, quasar grey, rayleigh red or aurora blue.
