Full-electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, Volta Trucks, is expanding its Research and Development team in the UK.
The Swedish-based manufacturer plans to recruit 280 new employees by the end of the year as part of efforts to accelerate the development of the full-electric Volta Zero.
Designed for city centre freight deliveries, the Volta Zero is the world’s first purpose-built full electric 16-tonne commercial vehicle.
The expanded team will also work on the forthcoming 7.5, 12 and 19-tonne variants of the Volta Zero at Volta Trucks’ UK base in Reading. The Reading location will provide easy access to London, where Volta Trucks’ Pilot Fleet will operate.

The manufacturer has grown from a small number of employees at the start of 2021.
