Renault adds van version to Zoe all-electric range

Renault PRO+ has revealed the newest addition to its growing light commercial vehicle range, the all-electric Zoe van. The PRO+ range is the French automaker’s specialist centre dedicated to business customers that are looking to switch to an electric van. The Zoe van joins Renault’s expanding commercial EV options alongside the Kangoo Z.E. and Master Z.E.

The new addition to the PRO+ family will utilise the powerful 52kWh battery and 80kW R110 motor that it is also featured in the new Zoe and it will have the same generous 245-mile WLTP range. The R110 motor will deliver an acceleration of zero to 62mph in 11.4 seconds, while the zero to 31mph sprint is completed in just 3.9 seconds. The van will be ideal for urban journeys with stop-start traffic, and a perfect fit for tasks such as multidrop deliveries.

The charging inlet is accessed behind the Renault badge on the front of the vehicle. As standard, the new Zoe van comes with Type-2 charging cable, which allows 100% charge in just three hours using a 22kW public charger. However, if you use the 50kW DC charging it will be way quicker as the van will be able to charge from zero to 80% in just one hour and ten minutes. If time is tight, a 30-minute charge is enough for a 90-mile boost in range using a DC charger.

The Zoe, like the other models, will have a Business and a Business+ version. The plus will have an expanded Technology Pack. Both models have Renault’s 9.3in portrait-oriented Easy Link touchscreen infotainment system incorporated, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera. Additionally, there is a Winter Pack available, enhancing comfort in colder conditions with heated seats and a heated steering wheel.

All models feature a 10in instrument cluster delivering a selection of information via a crisp and intuitive screen ahead of the driver. At the centre of the cabin is the 7in Easy Link touchscreen display controlling all infotainment and car settings. However, for the Business+ customers, the 7in Easy Link system also features sat-nav functionality which has 3D mapping that provides always-on 4G mobile data enabling connected services from TomTom such as traffic information and weather updates.

A total load volume of one cubic metre is on offer for the Zoe van, thanks to 1,205mm of length in the load bay and maximum load width of 1,110mm. Maximum payload is rated at up to 387kg meaning small but bulky items can be carried in the load area.

As it’s based on the Zoe car, the van benefits from the same assurances. That means it boasts a great five-year, 100,000-mile warranty and the first two years feature unlimited mileage restrictions, while the remaining three have a 100,000-mile limit. In addition, Renault’s confidence in its EV technology is clear, as the Z.E. 50 battery receives an eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty.

If the Zoe is too small for your work, Renault also offers the Master Z.E., which as the name suggests is meant for heavy duty. It has an increased payload over its entire range of up to 1,700kg. The big truck will come with three lengths (L1, L2, L3), two heights (H1, H2) and a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 3.1 or 3.5 tonnes and will offer a WLTP range of 75 miles and full recharge in six hours from a 7kW wall box or public charging point.

Lastly there is the very popular Kangoo Z.E. which has Business and Business+ options that share the same 33kWh battery and 44kW motor, providing a 143-mile (WLTP) range and zero tailpipe emissions with prices starting from £19,836 + VAT after the Plug-in Van Grant. This one can accommodate a payload ranging from 605kg to 640kg. Leasing deals on the Kangoo start around £150 per month.
