Kia has recently announced that it will be ramping up its supply for the e-Niro in 2020. The stylish crossover hatchback has seen a lot of demand, where a shortage of supply has hindered the South Korean manufacturer's ability to deliver EVs to its customers. According to Kia, there are 3,000 customers currently on the waiting list and with a new surge of supply, hopes to clear the backlog of demand before moving onto new customers in the second half of 2020.
It's great to see such demand for an all-electric vehicle; in 2019, the e-Niro sold out within weeks of going on sale in the UK. The vehicle that boasts 280 miles of driving range on a single charge emits zero tailpipe emission and is a spacious five-seater making it perfect for small-sized families. To add that, the vehicle comes with a seven-year or 100,000 miles no quibbles warranty.
The new 2020 e-Niro will be priced at £34,495 (after the government's plug-in grant), will have LED headlights, feature a 10.25″ Touchscreen display with navigation, will have new telematics system and have ambient lighting, too.
Those who want the new e-Niro (and aren't currently on the waiting list) will have to wait till early July 2020 to get their cars.
The manufacturer also announced that it will be launching another updated model in 2020 – the all-new Soul EV. We know this has been on the cards for some time, but the highly anticipated vehicle will have a range of 243 miles, hit 0-60mph in sub-8s and be priced at £33,795 (after PiCG). Deliveries for the Soul EV will commence in April.
