Citroen has launched the e-C4 X – but its shape might not be as familiar as the name suggests.

The all-electric Citroen e-C4 X is a stylish saloon-SUV crossover that sits between the regular e-C4 and the flagship C5 X in the French firm’s range.
While the regular e-C4 has a traditional hatchback stance, the e-C4 X ‘fastback’ features a higher ride height and added practicality, coming as it does with a large 510 litre boot.
Meanwhile a sophisticated electric powertrain delivers up to 260 miles between charges and also supports 100kW rapid charging.

There’s a choice of two batteries with a Citroen e-C4 X lease.
A 50 kWh unit unlocks power of 136 hp and a range of up to 220 miles between charges, while a larger 54 kWh battery ups the power to 154 hp and increases the range to 260 miles.

Citroen also promises a ‘next generation’ infotainment interface that benefits from over-the-air updates and which features a high-definition 10 inch screen that can be personalised to your taste.
The spacious interior is built to provide a ‘stress-free and calming experience’.
To that effect you get Citroen’s ‘Advanced Comfort Programme’, with every effort made to keep road noise outside of the cabin. You get ambient lighting and seats with extra padding.
And there’s also plush suspension and sophisticated damping to combat the UK’s potholed roads.

Meanwhile there’s also a full suite of driver assistance and safety systems on board, including ‘Collision Risk Alert’, ‘Post Collision Safety Brake’, adaptive cruise control, active lane positioning, and driver attention alert.
