CG Auto Global has partnered with Humax EV Charging to offer BYD customers in the UK a fully integrated vehicle and home charging package, enabling buyers to include a professionally installed home charger within their vehicle finance agreement.
The collaboration, announced today, aims to simplify the transition to electric vehicle ownership by allowing customers to purchase a BYD electric vehicle and a Humax MX7 home charger as a single package through CG Motors dealerships. Available immediately, the offer includes standard installation and starts at £999.
The partnership comes as the UK electric vehicle market continues to expand rapidly, with home charging remaining the most convenient and cost-effective method of powering an EV. However, many prospective buyers still face the additional challenge of sourcing, purchasing and installing a suitable home charging solution after acquiring their vehicle.
CG Auto Global and Humax believe their new arrangement removes much of that complexity by providing a one-stop solution at the point of sale.
Under the scheme, buyers can incorporate the cost of the Humax MX7 charger and installation into a Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) finance agreement, spreading the expense over monthly payments rather than paying for charging hardware and installation upfront. The package is available to both private customers and fleet operators.
CG Auto Global recently entered the European electric vehicle market as an official BYD dealer and currently operates showrooms across the south of England. The company is part of the Chaudhary Group, Nepal’s first multinational conglomerate, which has been expanding its automotive operations across Europe while leveraging experience gained from developing EV infrastructure and distribution networks in South Asia.
Derek Yu, deputy director of CG Motors UK, said the partnership aligns with the company’s objective of making EV ownership as straightforward as possible.
“Our aim is to deliver a premium, no-fuss experience for our customers when they purchase a BYD car, whether that’s for personal or business use,” said Yu. “This collaboration with Humax EV Charging allows us to fulfil this promise with an integrated package that enhances their vehicle ownership journey.”
Home charging has become increasingly important for EV owners, particularly as electricity tariffs designed for overnight charging can significantly reduce running costs compared with public rapid charging. Industry studies have consistently shown that drivers who can charge at home typically enjoy the lowest cost per mile, while also benefiting from the convenience of starting each day with a fully charged vehicle.
Humax believes the new offering addresses both financial and practical barriers that may discourage some motorists from switching to electric vehicles.
Jeff Kim, president of Humax, said: “This partnership with CG Auto Global makes the transition to electric driving simpler for BYD customers. By enabling drivers to include a home charger and installation within their vehicle purchase, we’re creating a true one-stop solution that removes advance costs and unnecessary complexity.”
Kim added that customers could also benefit from lower energy costs through smart charging and off-peak electricity tariffs while reducing reliance on public charging networks.
The charger at the centre of the new package is the Humax MX7, a premium home charging unit that has already received industry recognition, including a Gold London Design Award.
The MX7 includes a range of features designed to improve convenience, security and future readiness. Among the most notable is an energy theft protection system that uses smart vehicle recognition technology to prevent unauthorised charging and protect the homeowner’s electricity supply.

The charger is also approved under the UK Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) framework and has been designed to support future Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionality through ISO 15118 compatibility. While V2G services remain in their early stages in the UK, the technology is expected to play an increasingly important role in helping EV owners use their vehicles as mobile energy storage assets.
Additional functionality includes solar integration, allowing households with photovoltaic systems to prioritise self-generated renewable electricity for vehicle charging. Through the Humax Smart App, users can also schedule charging sessions, monitor energy usage in real time and make use of an Auto Solar Mode designed to maximise solar energy consumption.
Humax further differentiates the MX7 with a five-year warranty and 24/7 UK-based customer support, offering reassurance for drivers investing in home charging infrastructure.
The partnership reflects a growing trend among vehicle manufacturers and retailers to provide integrated charging solutions alongside electric vehicles. As competition intensifies in the EV market, simplifying ownership and reducing friction during the purchasing process is becoming an increasingly important differentiator.
For BYD customers purchasing through CG Motors dealerships, the ability to arrange vehicle finance, home charging equipment and installation through a single transaction could make the switch to electric motoring significantly more straightforward.
As EV adoption continues to accelerate across the UK, initiatives that reduce complexity and spread costs are likely to become an increasingly common part of the customer experience. The CG Auto Global and Humax partnership represents another step towards making electric vehicle ownership more accessible, convenient and financially manageable for a wider range of drivers.
