The London EV Show, one of the UK's key events for the electric vehicle industry, opens its doors at the Excel London exhibition centre this week. Running from Tuesday, 26th November, to Thursday, 28th November, the event brings together over 150 exhibitors across nearly 14,000 square metres of space, providing a platform for professionals to explore the latest developments in the EV market.
Organisers anticipate close to 20,000 attendees, with half of those pre-registered identified as senior executives from a wide range of organisations. Alongside the exhibition stands, the event features 180 guest speakers delivering insights into the market's growth and the challenges ahead.
A Gathering for Industry Stakeholders
The show is tailored for professionals spanning the broader EV ecosystem. Attendees include representatives from OEMs, fleet operators, charging service providers, battery manufacturers, eVTOL innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, government officials, analysts, and students. In addition to stands and presentations, the event includes structured networking sessions aimed at fostering collaborations and connections between industry stakeholders.
A Positive Backdrop for the EV Market
This year's event coincides with promising developments for the UK's EV sector. Over 300,000 electric vehicles have been registered in 2024, reflecting a 25% year-on-year increase compared to October 2023. Fleet registrations have been a significant driver of this growth, reinforcing the momentum toward the government’s 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel car sales.
Charging infrastructure has also seen marked improvement. The UK now boasts more than 70,000 public charge points, a significant rise from just 2,000 at the end of 2020. However, with projections indicating the need for another 2 million charge points by 2030, the market still holds substantial growth potential.
Opportunities for Learning and Networking
The London EV Show offers a comprehensive overview of the EV landscape, covering topics such as charging infrastructure, payment systems, fleet management, and vehicle technology. For those looking to expand their knowledge, discover new solutions, or connect with like-minded professionals, the event presents a valuable opportunity.
Alongside new technologies from Lotus, there will also be commercial and consumer solutions from Humax as well as companies like Wallbox from Barcelona and many others.
Registration for a free pass remains open, and visitors are welcome to attend the exhibition until late afternoon on Thursday, 28th November. Whether exploring market trends or seeking new business opportunities, the London EV Show is a hub for EV innovation and collaboration.
