Volvo is introducing a series of updates to its entire car line-up, is refreshing the design of the electric XC40 Recharge, and has unveiled a single-electric-motor variant of the all-electric C40 Recharge.
All new Volvo models will soon be available as an updated offer concept. When ordering a Volvo model online, customers will be able to choose between different equipment levels, selecting the options that best suit their needs. The new offer structure has been designed to increase price transparency and reduce complexity in the buying process.
For the XC40, Volvo has given the EV a new front bumper and a frameless grille plate. Its signature Thor Hammer headlights are augmented with pixel LED light technology, which enables them to adapt to traffic in front and light up the road ahead without dazzling other drivers.
“As we move towards becoming a fully electric company, our design language follows,” said Robin Page, head of design at Volvo Cars.
“With the refreshed fully electric XC40, we continue to evolve its instantly recognisable design, creating a more modern face with a sleeker front and an even more integrated grille.”
Customers will also get premium leather-free upholstery options, and a new selection of exterior colours and alloy wheels to choose from.
A single-motor variant of the C40 Recharge will be available to help more drivers make the switch. This comes with a 69kWh battery that can travel up to 269-miles under WLTP testing. The battery can be charged from 0-80% in 32 minutes on a fast-charging system.
With the new single-motor C40, Volvo’s EV range of fully electric variants expands to four and gets the automaker one step closer to selling only electric cars by 2030.
