Vauxhall has been named the UK’s bestselling electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV) manufacturer, according to the latest sales figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

So far this year, Vauxhall has sold 160 e-LCVs, growing its LCV market share from 7.2% in January 2021 to 14.2% in January 2022.

Underpinning this sales success is Volvo’s award-winning Vivaro-e, which is the bestselling model in the e-LCV sector this year-to-date.

Some of the Vivaro-e’s awards include ‘Medium Van of the Year’ at the What Van? Awards 2022, ‘Best Medium Electric Van’ at the Driving Electric Awards 2022 and it has been voted ‘International Van of the Year 2021’.

The Vivaro-e has a maximum payload of 1,226kg and can travel up to 205 WLTP miles.

Vauxhall is proving to be the manufacturer to beat in this market as it was also the bestselling e-LCV manufacturer in 2021 too.

Managing director of Vauxhall Paul Wilcox said: “I’m proud to see Vauxhall continuing to lead the charge towards electrification of the UK van market, building on our success in 2021. With our full range of 100% electric vans, including the All-New Combo-e, Vivaro-e and All-New Movano-e, we’re confident that even more businesses will make the switch to electric in 2022 and enjoy all the benefits this brings, including zero emissions, lower running costs and an excellent user experience.”

The British marque is aiming to offer an electric variant across its entire product range by 2024.
