Citroën UK has updated its new ë-C4 Electric line-up for 2022 to make the range more accessible for customers looking to switch to an EV.

A new entry-level Sense version has been introduced within the ë-C4 range along with a Shine Edition and Shine Plus version, which replaces the outgoing Shine and Sense Plus trims.

The Sense variant starts at £29,995 and is therefore eligible for the £1,500 plug-in grant, meaning it is priced at £28,495.

As standard, this version comes with LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, power folding mirrors, rear parking sensors and keyless entry & start.

Safety features include active safety brake, speed limit information, lane assist and a forward collision warning.

Inside the Sense version there is a dual zone climate control system and 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, featuring Bluetooth telephone and audio streaming, DAB digital radio, Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

The new Shine Edition is priced at £31,995 and so also qualifies for the government grant making it £30,495. Added features include a head-up display, active cruise control, active blind spot detection, as well as more safety features, including extended traffic sign recognition and a cyclist detection system. Shine Edition models also benefit from Citroen Connect Nav, front and rear parking sensors, a heated steering wheel and a two-position boot floor.

Citroën’s best-selling variant, the Shine Plus, remains in place at the top of the range. This adds a wireless smartphone charger, HiFi speakers, heated front seats and black Siena leather upholstery.

In October 2021, the French brand was able to improve the efficiency of all new ë-C4 Electric models by updating both the heat pump and transmission settings, increasing the range by nearly 18 miles depending on usage conditions.
